In Between.
the exchange
I always walk in between.
You say: am I conservative?
No. I walk between conservatism and radicalism.
Objective, then?
No. I walk between objectivity and subjectivity.
So-called reason?
No. I walk between reason and feeling.
You are too contradictory, aren't you?
Yes. Because I am human, and so I am full of contradictions.
The original poem is a conversation with myself, but the voice is singular. Even the questions arrive from inside the same body.
Not as a compromise. Not as hesitation. Not because I cannot choose a side.
Between conservatism and radicalism, between objectivity and subjectivity, between reason and feeling, there is a narrow path where the self remains unfinished enough to keep listening.
Contradiction is not always a failure of thought. Sometimes it is the most honest evidence that a person is still alive inside more than one truth.
